Story and pacing development
Hi all,
Apologies for the 6 day delay, I've been getting splitting headaches recently and didn't have the energy to even use anything with a screen. They seemed to have eased off for now.
Anyway, some good story development has been happening during the month despite this. I've figured out a great overall pacing for the game, how parts will be separated, and how they will join together, I've also thought up quite a few new scenes and characters. I've also found a good way of breaking off from the main plot to give the players little breaks from the slew of information, and give them some time to calmly process stuff without being hurried forward through the game. On top of that, I have been thinking about where to put little empty scenes where the player can just walk around, and maybe take a break from playing, as I have realized I've been focusing so hard on telling a story, while completely forgetting someone will have to sit at their computer and play through it all without pause.
Additionally, I have been working some more on creating meaningful and detailed moments and characters. I have also been deciding whether the world should have an overall forward movement, or whether there should be multiple areas the player will come back to on a regular basis. Though I may end up doing both, depending on how the plot changes and develops throughout the game's duration.
That's it for this month, let's hope my health improves, and so do the update dates.
